Most people don’t realize that cosmetics and personal care products are unregulated here in the US, or that between 60-80% of what is applied to the skin is absorbed into the bloodstream.  Ironically, rather than the burden of safety being placed on the manufacturer, it is placed on the consumer, where we have to prove a product is unsafe once it has already been released to the marketplace.  The FDA, the logical choice to oversee cosmetics and personal care products, declines to regulate the industry, instead allowing the $50 billion per year industry to self-regulate through an organization called the Cosmetics Ingredient Review Board.

We don't believe this is logical, so at Bloom Organics, we try to do things differently.  We are committed to offering  natural and organic skin care and body products which are free of harmful or questionable ingredients.  We embrace the standards offered by the BDIH of Germany, an organization that defines the word "natural" stringently, by banning all petroleum-based ingredients, gmo's, animal ingredients and testing, irradiated ingredients, ethoxylated raw materials, synthetic dyes or fragrances, and silicones.
